Synopsis :-

This is one mindless drama that serves only one function – background noise. Although the plot was nonsensical, it did appear the cast had fun filming, especially our two protagonists Lee Beom (Uhm Ji-won) and Kim Bo-mi (Lee Yuri). The constant body-switching was actually funny and the actresses were impressive trying to capture each other’s character’s mannerism. What became tiring to watch was the constant failure to reveal Beom’s husband Park Yoon-chul’s (Choi Byung-mo) wrongdoing and infidelity. This is yet another example of a drama that would have benefitted from a shorter episode count.

I thought it dragged longer than was required for Beom’s daughter Shi-won to find out about the switcheroo, because it would have been more fun for the mother-daughter pair to team up with Bo-mi to give Yoon-chul a run for his money (literally). The ultimate baddies here aren’t Yoon-chul however, but the “CIA” and one-dimensional American scientist(s) who were after the body-switching drug. They were not only ineffective but also a waste of screentime together with Bo-mi’s orphanage friends Beom-il (Kim Nam Hee) and Beom-sam (Ahn Se-ha).

The jokes that were funny initially got old after some time and it’s obvious that the two leading ladies were carrying the entire drama on their shoulders. Lee Jong-hyuk had relatively little screentime comparatively as Bo-mi’s team leader Lee Hyung-seok and every of his stoic and Bo-mi-disapproving presence was an oasis to me. I do think he likes Bo-mi and wished there was more explanation of how he came to that point. It’s of course convenient to have a third character who’s privvy to the girls’ secrets because he can help salvage the sudden body-switch on the spot.

It’s probably a letdown that Bo-mi did not really change her terrible personality for the better, while Beom underwent a bigger transformation. I thought that was more realistic, but that again this drama is bonkers and what place does realism have here? It also felt like the 16 hours spent was moot because after all that chase for the antidote, the ladies still experience body-switching once a month as revealed at the end. Would I say I regretted watching? No because Uhm Ji-won and Lee Yuri were great here. However I would not recommend this unless you’re looking for 16 hours of white noise.
